Joining us as a Threshold Ambassador on the 2024 Babble Ride Across Britain is Lewis Bloyce.
Based in London, Lewis works as a menswear buyer in the fashion industry, but describes cycling as the “red thread” that holds his life together. Despite only getting into the sport five years ago, he has embraced it wholeheartedly, and has developed a particular interest in the fixed gear and track racing. He is currently contending for a podium position at the Herne Hill Velodrome Track League.
Jumping from gritty, high-speed racing to a multi-day adventure like the Babble Ride Across Britain is no small leap, but it’s one Lewis is highly looking forward to. “A few years ago, I tore two ligaments and fractured my ankle,” he told us. “I was unable to do any exercise for 10 months, and at the time it felt like I would never ride again. But here we are.”
“I am most looking forward to seeing parts of Britain I’ve never been able to see,” he said. “This will be the hardest challenge I’ve done in my life so far, and I really want to ‘turn the screw’ and dig deep. No doubt it will be a challenge – but we must go forth!”
